DRI | Research

Objectives and Scope

DRI was set up to  better understand the challenges that mankind is facing in the 21st century, with particular emphasis on joint exploration of challenges and mutual influences  in and of two main areas:

  • on one side, the big global challenges, e.g. resources, climate or world peace;
  • on the other side, socio-cultural and individual challenges that concern the development of humans.

The strength of DRI is research into the interconnection between socio-cultural human development and global progress. To that end, DRI conducts and promotes research, issues publications, organizes lectures and events, offers educational programmes and engages in development policy discussions.
